Im Ersten Weltkrieg k\u00e4mpfte er in einem Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment und wurde mit dem Eisernen Kreuz 2. Klasse sowie dem\u00a0 Milit\u00e4rverdienstkreuz mit Schwertern ausgezeichnet.
