Klasse des Gymnasiums in Eichst\u00e4tt. Im Ersten Weltkrieg diente er in der 9. Kompanie des 3. Ersatz-Infanterie-Regiments als Unteroffizier. Er wurde mit dem Eisernen Kreuz 2. Klasse ausgezeichnet.
