Im Zweiten Weltkrieg diente er in der 2. Schwadron der Radfahr-Abteilung 54 der 1. Gebirgs-Division als Gefreiter. Am 31.12.1942 fiel er im Alter von 30 Jahren auf dem H.V.\u00dcl.
