Im Ersten Weltkrieg k\u00e4mpfte er im 1. Reserve-J\u00e4gerbataillon als Landwehrmann. Er wurde mit dem Milit\u00e4rverdienstkreuz 3. Klasse mit Schwertern ausgezeichnet.
