Er war der Sohn eines Landwirts. Im Ersten Weltkrieg k\u00e4mpfte er im in der 11. Kompanie des 10. bayerischen Reserve-Infanterie-Regiments als Infanterist. Am 09.05.1915 ( lt. Volksbund am 12.05.1915) fiel er im Alter von 28 Jahren bei <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/y6fo4turqFXmqVnBA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">La Targette<\/a> bei Neuville-Saint-Vaast.
