Er besuchte die 7. Klasse des <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Erasmus-Gymnasium_Amberg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gymnasiums in Amberg<\/a>, als er sich wahrscheinlich freiwillig zum Kriegsdienst meldete. Er wurde Unteroffizier und wurde am 02.04.1917 an der Westfornt &#8211; vermutlich Frankreich &#8211; schwer verwundet.
