Im Ersten Weltkrieg k\u00e4mpfte er als Reservist in der 1. Kompanie des 2. bayerischen Infanterie-Regiments. Am 06.09.1914 fiel er im Alter von 27 Jahren w\u00e4hrend der Stellungsk\u00e4mpfe bei <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Xaff%C3%A9villers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Xaff\u00e9villers<\/a>.
