Im Ersten Weltkrieg diente er bei der 7. Batterie des 9. bayerischen Feld-Artillerie-Regiments als Kanonier und Fahrer. Am 11.04.1918 fiel er bei den K\u00e4mpfen in Frankreich durch Granatschuss im Alter von 20 Jahren nach zwanzigmonatigem Kriegseinsatz.
