Im Ersten Weltkrieg diente er als F\u00e4hnrich in der 4. Feld-Pionier-Kompanie des 2. bayerisches Pionier-Bataillons. Am 04.10.1914 fiel er im Alter von 20 Jahren bei <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vimy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vimy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Die Lage des Grabes von Ludwig Gerbel ist unbekannt. Ich bin mir jedoch sicher, dass er, wenn er bis heute geborgen wurde, anonym in einem Massengrab auf dem Soldatenfriedhof <span
