Im Ersten Weltkrieg k\u00e4mpfte er in der MG Kompanie des 1. bayerischen Infanterie-Regiments (&#8222;K\u00f6nig&#8220;) als Gefreiter. Am 12.06.1916 wurde er im Alter von 23 Jahren bei <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Douaumont\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Douaumont<\/a> get\u00f6tet. Er war mit dem\u00a0Milit\u00e4r-Verdienstkreuz III.
