Im Ersten Weltkrieg k\u00e4mpfte er in der 12. Kompanie des\u00a0 2. Landwehr-Infanterie-Regiments als Landsturmmann. Er wurde mit dem Verdienstkreuz mit Schwertern 3. Klasse ausgezeichnet.
