Im Ersten Weltkrieg diente er in der\u00a04. Kompanie des 1. bayerischen Infanterie-Regiments.\u00a0 Am 21.06.1916 fiel er im Alter von 29 in der Region Verdun. Zun\u00e4chst war er nur als vermisst gemeldet worden.
