Im Ersten Weltkrieg diente er als Infanterist in der 4. Kompanie des 8. bayerischen Infanterie-Regiments. Am 04.05.1915 fiel er im Alter von 22 Jahren bei einem Sturmangriff w\u00e4hrend der furchtbaren K\u00e4mpfe bei\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/c9JKEKdfZTM2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Les Eparges<\/a>.
