Im Ersten Weltkrieg k\u00e4mpfte er als Leutnant der Reserve in der Maschinengewehr-Kompanie des 81. Infanterie-Regiments. Am 16.04.1916 fiel er im Alter von 25 Jahren w\u00e4hrend der <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Schlacht_um_Verdun\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Schlacht um Verdun<\/a>.
