Im Ersten Weltkrieg diente er in der 2. Kompanie des 15. bayerischen Reserve-Infanterie-Regiments. Er wurde mit der Kriegsmedaille ausgezeichnet. Am 04.04.1915 fiel er im Alter von 27 Jahren im <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/GuQZ73kJmy22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brule-Wald<\/a> bei <a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/CcPPy1rk6R62\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ailly<\/a>, (<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/GuQZ73kJmy22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bois d&#8217;Ailly<\/a>) durch Mienenschuss.
