Im Ersten Weltkrieg k\u00e4mpfte er als Engine room artificer 4. Class in der Royal Navy, auf dem Schiff <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/His_Majesty%E2%80%99s_Ship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">H. M. S.<\/a>\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/P-class_sloop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">P. 26<\/a>, einem Patrouillenboot.
