Im Ersten Weltkrieg diente er in der 4. Kompanie des <a href=\"https:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/K%C3%B6niglich_Bayerisches_1._J%C3%A4gerbataillon_%E2%80%9EK%C3%B6nig%E2%80%9C\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1. J\u00e4ger-Bataillons<\/a> als Gefreiter der Reserve.
