Im Zweiten Weltkrieg diente er als J\u00e4ger in einem Gebirgs-J\u00e4ger-Regiment. Er wurde mit dem Eisernen Kreuz 2. Klasse sowie dem Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber ausgezeichnet und fiel am 10.04.1944 im Alter von 19 Jahren.
